Welcome to Squirrels class page! 

Our topic for the Autumn term is POLE to POLE!.  Our work will focus on planet Earth! We will learn about the equator, north and south pole, the 7 continents and the 5 main oceans. We will then focus on studying the hot and cold places across the Earth and then study the history of Scott's exepedition to the South Pole. 

Reading/Phonics:

Children will have daily reading sessions either phonic or comprehension focused.  A reading book will be brought home regularly for you to support your child at home with their fluency and developing as a reader.  Any reading done at home can be recorded in the reading records. 

Homework:

Your child’s homework will be set on Google Classroom and will be available on a Friday. Children will be set English or Maths homework on alternative weeks. Where possible, the homework set will link to the area of learning we have covered in class that week. Once completed a picture can be uploaded to Google Classroom for marking.  If your child has any problems with the homework set, please let us know and we can go through it with them at school. Also if a paper copy is needed please ask.

PE:

The children will have PE on a Tuesday afternoon. Please can you ensure your child comes into school wearing their PE kit on this day. They will then stay in their PE kit for the whole day.
