Heber Cross Country

The first sports event of this academic year and it was at the Heber - cross country. We took a huge team this year with 40 athletes!

There were races for Year 1 pupils all the way up to Year 6. Led by our team captain - Blake - the team was excited and full of confidence. And it could not have started any better! Our Year 3 boys dominated with Jenson winning gold and Drew came 3rd, closely followed by Beau in 4th. Rosie finished 6th and Gracie 7th with Lottie not far behind. The bar was set high! Our Year 2 pupils took to the track and Riella and Enza led from the start! Riella got gold and Enza silver and Elodie claimed a top 10 finish. And the boys were just as dominant! Harry claimed silver and Oliver won bronze. 

Next up it was the Juniors. For Year 3, Felix ran a terrific race to earn bronze and Jack (6th) and Thomas (7th) were not too far behind. Poppy did amazingly well and finished 6th for the girls and Edie (10th) and Ruby (15th) can be proud of how well they ran. Our Year 4 girls did not disappoint - Annie won bronze and Ivy Jones finished well in 6th. Casey made his debut and can be very pleased with 9th place and Austin just pipped him to finish 8th. 

In Year 5, we were back amongst the medals! Jessica ran an incredible race and won gold by quite a distance. Amber was unwell in school but was still determined to race and can be very proud of herself with an 8th place and Anna was close behind in 9th. For the boys, Dash narrolwy missed out on a medal, coming home in 4th and not far behind were Alfie (6th) and Harry (7th). Finally, Year 6 took to the track and what a race it was for Farndon. Team captain Blake ran the race of his life. After the first lap he was in third, but then completely dropped the leaders and cruised to gold. Jemiah ran in his first cross country race and won bronze! We dominated the race with Henry claiming 5th and Jonah (6th). Evelyn came 3rd last time and was determined to do better. She ran confidently and won a silver medal and Flo did so well to keep our points low with a 6th place finish. 

As a team, they were there for each other and supported each other, cheering their name as they ran past. There were some fine individual performances, but today was all about the team. Whatever place they finished, earned points for the team - the school with the lowest points wins! 

Bickerton were announced as third place winners. Runners up were Tattenhall, meaning Farndon were crowned champions.
