Football League Matches

Sadly, with the bad weather, many schools have not been able to play their football league fixtures as their school fields were not playable.

So in our league, we took the decision to play them all on one night on an astro-turf pitch at King George V playing fields.

The pitches were very small and we started slowly. It was  0 - 0 draw with Tarvin, followed by a 1 -1 draw with Eccleston, with Jemiah scoring our first goal. Then, we were up agaisnt the national champions - Kesall! They were incredibly skillful with quick passing and movement - it was a 4 - 0 loss.

However, then we found another gear. Agaisnt Waverton, Harley scored a brace, but we were pegged back for another draw with the scoreline 2 - 2. But the team's confidence was now up and they played their best football against Christleton. We raced to a 3 - 0 win with goals from Jemiah and Harley. Now we were on a roll! Eaton were wel beaten 4 - 0 with another goal from Harley; Ellis scored a debut goal and Henry was moved up to striker and scored twice.

Points were crucial if we were to make the Super 8s. Against Guilden Suttton, it was a tight game, but we came out on top, winning 2 -1; Harley and Logan were on the score sheet.

Now we cross our fingers, hoping 3 wins and 3 draws will be enough to make the super 8s.
