Sports Day

Well you would know that we selected the day for Sports Day that would be sandwiched between days of glorious weather! Key Stage 1 went in the morning and basked in the sunshine. The rain was due around 2pm during the Key Stage 2 events in the afternoon - and the weather forecasters were annoyingly spot on - for once. But it didn't dampen our spirits and the quality of the performances.

Key Stage 1 did their usual circuit of activities which included Sprint, Sack race, Egg and Spoon and Javelin. For every event, first, second and third earned points for their House team. At the end, there was only 11 points in it, but Beech triumphed with 141 points.

In the afternoon, it was the turn of the Junior pupils. There were definitely some stand out perfomances. Henry in Year 5 dominated the Sprint in a Bolt like run to win gold. Mollie in Year 6 capped off her last sports day with a win in the sprint. Jack Waters was an absolute master at skipping and there was no beating him! The rivalries were in the 200m. Polly and Zara ran an incredibly fast paced race, with Zara crossing the line for gold. And for Year 4 boys, Blake, who won overall gold in the cross country, stormed to victory to earn what proved to be valuable points for Maple. For Key Stage 2 it was tight and it was decided by the relay races. Maple won once again, beating Beech into second place by just 2 points!

And so for the overall winners! Beech may have won the Infants, but they finished fourth in Key Stage 2. And so the winners, by just 7 points, were Maple - again with 251 points! Sports Day Champions 2025 Maple.
