Year 5/6 Zoo Ranger Visit

Lesson: Geography

Class: Year 5 Owls Year: 2014 - 2015

The children in Year 5 and 6 were lucky enough to have a Zoo Ranger from Chester Zoo visit them last week. During her visit, we learnt more about the rainforests, the endangered animals that lived within them and how to protect them . The children got the opportunity to handle artefacts lent to the zoo by Customs and Excise which highlighted the gruesome nature of poaching. Aside from the darker side of the rainforest, they also had the chance to hold a rreal hissing cockroach - even Mrs Wakefield managed to touch it!
