Mrs Wyllor
Year 3/4 teacher
Welcome to Year 5 and 6
Welcome Back Kingfishers! I can't wait to greet you all on our first day back.
This term's topic is "Endangered!
Spellings
New spellings will be taught on a Monday, where a 'Look, Cover, Write, Check' sheet will be given out for children to practice these new spellings at home. During the rest of the week, children will be given a variety of activities based around these spellings to help embed the new pattern or rule. Instead of a weekly spelling test, children will be assessed on the spellings they have learnt so far at the end of each half-term, with this including 3-4 words from each week. All children now have their own login details, which have been sent home, to access www.spellingframe.co.uk and should be using this website to help improve their spelling knowledge several times a week for 15 minutes.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask Mrs Wyllor. I am greatly looking forward to having you all in our class and can't wait to welcome you back to school!
Physical Education
The children will have PE on a Tuesday. Please ensure that your child comes into school on Tuesday with their PE Kit on.
Spelling
Spelling Frame will be set on a Friday weekly and it is expected that the children will complete a test by the following Thursday at home to improve their knowledge of spelling rules and in readiness for SATs.
HOMEWORK
In addition to reading, spellings and times table rockstars, children will recieve a printed out homework sheet on a Friday to be completed for the following Friday.
