The Summer Fair

It's Carnival Time at Farndon

On Friday, we had our School Summer Fair. The theme this year was Brazilian Carnival because of the World Cup in Brazil.

Everyone had a fantastic time! The Year 6 children did a marvellous job with their enterprise scheme. Groups of children were given £2 and made their own stalls; those selling friendship bands made quite a healthy profit! Some Year 6 boys held a penalty shoot out and Mr Walker suffered similar heartache to the England players.

In the arena, children had the chance to show off their Samba dancing and the masks that they made. The winners included Phoebe Eccles, William Harland, Olivia Davies and Tilly Richards

Abigail Fuge looked wonderful as she was crowned the Rose Queen by Mary Hazel. The crown bearers were from Reception: Scarlett Kinmont and Dougie Scott.

Then, we were treated to Miss Schofield's Samba dance group. After school, they had been practising for weeks and as they danced there were loud blasts from trumpets and whistles.

A big thank you must go to Lynne McKie and the team of PTA members who made the afternoon possible. Both the PTA and Staff worked so hard to make the afternoon a success.
