The Great Fire of Nantwich

Lesson: History

Class: Year 1 Foxes Year: 2015 - 2016

The Year 1 and Year 2 pupils had a trip to Nantwich on Tuesday. It was part of their topic on the Great Fire of London. We visited the museum where we learnt all about the Great Fire of Nantwich. They had a really interesting walk around Nantwich to look at the Tudor buildings, learn where the fire started and it ended in Pillory street where the children saw how the person was punished who was to blame for the fire starting!

Then back at the museum, the children got to write with feathers and ink, dress in tudor clothes, put out fires as a team and create their very own Tudor houses. The children had a great time; it was real hands on history!
