Rugby Tournament

Lesson: Physical Development

Class: Year 3 Robins Year: 2015 - 2016

Thursday night was the turn of the Year 3 and 4 rugby team. They were defending champions and so the pressure was on.

We faced Clutton, Tilston and Tattenhall (B) in the group stage. Clutton was a tight game but we edged it 3 tries to 1. Next up was Tilston. It was an incredibly tight game and with time running out it was 4 - 4; then up stepped Caleb. With ball in hand he weaved past several defenders and set up our winning try; the match finished 5 - 4. Our final game was Tattenhall (B) and with our tails up we raced to a comfortable win of 5 - 1.

We faced Shocklach in the semi-final. We were full of confidence and we won convincingly 4 -1 . We had reached the final but knew it would be a tough game against Tatenhall (A). They won the toss so started with ball in hand. It proved to be the advantage that tipped the balance in their favour! Sadly, time beat us and the game finished 5 - 4. Runners up this time.

The children were fantastic. Their attitude was superb and everyone contributed with some important tackles and great tries. It was difficult to pick a player of the tournament as there were so many top performances, but it has to go to our secret weapon Daniel in Year 4. Well done to you all. You did yourselves and the school proud.
