Pirates invade New Brighton

Lesson: Geography

Class: Year 1 Foxes Year: 2014 - 2015

On Friday, the Infant children went to New Brighton for a pirate adventure!

The children spent the morning on the main new Brighton beach playing in the sand with friends. They went in small groups to try and identify  resort features. They also compared and old / new map of New Brighton and realised that the tower and large aquatic pool were no longer there.

The floral pavilion had kindly offered to let us use their facilities and the children enjoyed their ice cream treat in the theatre !

We then headed along the promenade for a swashbuckling adventure. As we arrived at the pirate ship the children were excited to see three pirates on board. For the next hour the children listened to stories, explored the ship and island. This was followed by members of staff walking the plank!

The children were an absolute credit and a pleasure to take out. Thank u to all the parents for helping on the trip.
