Guitar Performance

Lesson: Music

On Monday, all the children who have guitar sessions within our school had the opportunity to perform to the whole school and their parents.

Their performance was wonderful and it was fantastic to see how committed the children are in constantly practising their newly acquired skills; Tommy even played with a broken arm!

The children played several modern well known songs that were instantly recognisable to the audience. They began with a track by George Ezra and then followed that up with the track from Frozen - Let it Go. Then, the audience were treated to Ed Sheeran. They finished with the catchy Uptown Funk. The childen clearly enjoyed playing more modern songs and they performed so confidently considering they were really tricky songs to play.

The group ranged from Infant children who only have had a few sessions, to the those pupils who had played for several years. Ian, their tutor, has told me how impressed he is with the children within our school - particularly the Year 6 pupils; he said what a pleasure they were teach and how he really enjoys coming to our school. Well we are all certainly pleased Ian comes to our school because the performance was certainly inspiring and we hope it may encourage many more pupils to take up the guitar or any other instruments we offer such as the violin or the piano.
