Deanery Sports

The Junior children went to Tarpoley High School to compete in this years Deanery Athletics Competition. A big thank you must go out to Mr Bond and all the Parents who helped to prepare the children for this tournament. And also a big thank you to all those Parents who gave up their evening to support the school.

We had some individual successes in various competitons. Josh in Year 6 came a close 2nd in the 200 metres. James in Year 6 ran his heart out and came 3rd in the Obstacle. Anna in Year 5 blitzed the whole field in skipping, winning gold. Niamh in Year 5 managed to hold off stiff competition in the sprint and won gold. There was another victory in the Year 4 sprint race by Juliette. Also, Jack in Year 5 grabbed a silver in the sprint. Finally, Phoebe in Year 5 came third in the long jump.

Everyone who was chosen did extremely well. Clearly, we did well in the sprints, and to look to the next year, we will look to maximise our performance with earlier try outs and practising with the field equipment like the long jump and high jump. Congratulations to Tilston who ran out the overall winners.
