Cave Man Day

Lesson: History

Class: Year 4 Wrens Year: 2016 - 2017

The lower juniors have had a busy few days.

On Wednesday, they were visited by a real life cave man! Actually, it was Chris Trevor, a History advisor, and her husband who came in to do a talk about how we know so much about the life of those people from the stone age. The children got to see how they made their own clothes using needles made from bone and deer skins.

On Thursday, it was cave man day. The children looked fantastic in their outfits. They spent the day experiencing what life was like as a cave man. They had to build their own shelter outside to protect them from the elements. Then, back in the classroom, they had to decorate the walls of their caves with cave paintings. In the afternoon, they got to taste some food they may well have eaten and then got busy making clothes for Ug, their caveman character, using the felt they had made in class.
