Year 6 Boys complete the Cheshire Hike

At the star of the Easter break, two of the school's Year 6 boys, William Shearman and Sam Davenport, completed the challenging Cheshire Hike as part of their work with Farndon Scouts.

The hike itself was 30km over 2 days, carrying all their camping and cooking equipment on their backs. They walked 19km on the first day adn 11km on the second. They each carried 18 pounds on their backs, which inlcuded their tent and food. In pairs, they independently used a map to follow an unknown route. At the end of the first day, they et up base camp, put up their own tent and cooked a a meal for themselves!

They were one of the youngest pairs and finished 62nd out of 110 teams. Most teams were older and even needed rescuing!

Well done boys! You did an amazing job!
