Valentine's Day Cake Sale

Love was in the air today as it was Valentine's Day.

Before Christmas, Sophia, in Ravens class, approached Mr Walker to ask if she could arrange a cake sale to raise money for a chosen charity. They talked through possible dates and Sophia decided to raise money for the Downs Syndrome Association.

Sophia, who is a school councillor, showed excellent leadership skills. She rallied her class mates to help make lots of cakes and biscuits and to then help sell them at break time. She arranged for texts to go out and advertised the event in and around school.

Needless to say, it was a huge success! There were so many delicious treats, some with a Valentine Day theme and the queue to buy went all the way through the Junior corridor and then curled around outside!

At the end of the day, the funds were counted and Sophia and her team raised an amazing £119.85. An absolutely incredible achievement by the children within Ravens, particularly by Sophia.

Well done everyone!
