The Lord Mayor Visit

On Friday, we had our refurbishments and extensions officially opened by the Lord Mayor, cllr Alex Black, and the Lady Mayoress, Janet Black.

They arrived at the the school in their Bentley car and joined a host of guests includng people from the Local Authority, Reads construction, D2 architects, Governors and local community members including members of the Parish Council.

We were desperately hoping to hold the opening outside and cut the red ribbon around the new building, but unfortunately the weather turned and we were forced inside. In front of all the pupils and staff, the Lord Mayor officially opened the school and unveiled a commemorative plaque which will be displayed in the front entrance. After tea, coffee and cake in the studio hall, all our guests were given a full tour of the school to see first hand all the improvements we have made.

Our Farndon News Crew found the time to interview the Lord Mayor and the Local Authority and pupils can read all about their visit and their opinions of our school in this terms first edition of the school newspaper.

The Lord Mayor thoroughly enjoyed his visit around the classrooms; he spent a lot of time with the children and even started helping them with their work! The Lord Mayor and the Lady Mayoress appeared very impressed and the staff and the pupils can be very proud of themselves because the classrooms looked amazing!

We also invited our guests in the morning and those that came for a tour in the afternoon to share their comments and thoughts about our new school.

"Unbelievable new development, what lucky children but of course it all comes down to the superb dedicated staff."

"I love the bright, airy classrooms. I also like the wide teaching street where children can do work. I am very impressed with the refurbishments."

" Very impressed and well designed."

"The school is fantastic! Amazing work has been done. Fantastic design and a very smooth transition from old to new. Everything is perfect - well done!"
