Infant Sports Day

Well with two cancellations we thought that electing to go for the Friday was our best chance of getting Infants sports day on - we were guaranteed good weather and we were blessed with bright sunshine and a slight breeze; perfect conditions for Sports Day.

All the children were able to compete in the sprint race, the egg and spoon, the sack and the relay. And they also found time to squeeze in the javelin on the playground.

All the children performed so well - particularly the Reception pupils considering for some it was their first sports day in front of a large crowd.

Children earnt points if they finsihed in the top 3: 1 point for third, 2 points for second and 3 points for first.

It was Willow's day as they dominated in both the field and the track. They scored a total of 221 points and won this year's Infant Sports Day. Well done to all the houses and all our competitors who helped make it such a memorable day.

Final Standings for Infants:

Willow: 221 points

Sycamore: 182 points

Maple: 162 points

Beech: 109 points

But how did this affect the overall standings? Beech were the winners last year, but have they managed to retain their crown? When we add the Junior totals to the Infants, this is the overall standings for the whole school.

Willow: 528 points

Maple: 494 points

Sycamore: 462 points

Beech: 411 points
