Heber Athletics Tournament

On Thursday, the indoor atheltics season begun and it was the turn of the lower juniors to try and bring a trophy back to school. Hopes were high after we performed so well in the summer at the Deanery Athletics Junior tournament, narrowly beating Bickerton to won the Deanery Shield.

After a successful start to the year with regard to the Heber tournaments, we recently have only managed runners up spots in the Hockey and Cross Country. We hoped the Year 3 and Year 4 pupils would once again give us that winning feeling.

And they didn't disappoint!!! The children performed magnificently well, earning an amazing 161 points, which was enough to win the tournament. More silverware for the trophy cabinet.

Well done to Mr Firkins who worked hard to prepare the children for the competition - and who drove all the way from Wallasey just to catch the last 45 minutes!
