Handball Heroes

On Tuesday night we sent our handball teams to try to retain their title from last year.

It was a night of drama and I am so disappointed I wasn't there again because of meetings. One of our teams tried so hard and put their training to good use but sadly lost their 3 league games.

The other team played well, just edging some tight matches. They won 4 - 1 against Malpas and 3 -2 against Bickerton. Tushingham proved a tough test and they lost 5 - 3.

In the semi-finals they met Tattenhall and won 3 - 1. And then to the final where they faced Tushingham again. This time it was much closer and in a nerve jangling match it finished 5 - 5. Golden goal loomed. After a penalty shot miss, Tushingham took their chance and went on to win.

Well done to all the children who represented the school so well. A big thank you to Mr Bond for organising and a special thank you to Mr McKie who gave up his own time early on Friday mornings to prepare the children for the tournament.
