Girl Cup Match

It was the first round of the cup for our Girls Football team. They faced The Lache Primary and it was a chance to help get over the pain of losing to them in the final last year through a controversial late penalty.

The pitch was pretty bad and incredibly muddy so it was never going to be a great game of football. However, even as the rain lashed down, the girls showed high levels of commitment from the first to the last whistle.

It started well, with Arabella breaking through and then finished well. Lilly was a constant threat up front and had several chances, but the Lache goalkeeper did well to keep them out. Sienna showed quick thinking with a short corner to Arabella who smashed it into the top cornerto make it 2 - 0.

That set the tone for the rest of the game and we dominated throughout. Mimi was everywhere in midfield and chipped in with two well taken goals. Whenever Lache did manage to break, they ran into Lexi or Scarlett who defended like lions. Sienna showed some silky skills down the left and deserved her late goal in the game. And Sophia proved hard to keep quiet when she played up front and came so close to a goal.

It ended in a convincing win for us, finising Lache 1  Farndon 9. Arabella starred with a double hatrick!!! It was a terrific performance with all the players contributing and giving it their all. Mimi and Arabella had fantastic games, but player of the match goes to Sienna. Wonderful play down the left flank, with some great touches, fine skills and effectively setting up several attacks. Well done girls!
