Friendly Against Tarvin

On Monday, our Year 3 and 4 team played a friendly football match against Tarvin - and Mr Walker's son was their team captain!

We started brightly, with a lovely through ball played in for Jamie who applied the finish with a neat clip into the bottom corner. For the first half we then had to dig in and defend for large parts of the game. Harry was inspired in goal and Noah was solid in defence, making some important tackles and blocks. Ben Walker, from Tarvin, got some stinging shots off with his left foot, but Harry managed to keep them out. Then, the goal came and Tarvin equalised to make the scores level at half time.

In the second half, Josh started to boss the midfield, but we still couldn't score to take the lead. Jamie came back on, playing his preferred right wing and it proved decisive. He raced clear and calmly finished. And minutes later, he completed his hat trick and then left the field to the applause of the crowd.

There was still time for Ben to add some gloss to the win with a couple of well taken goals. However, Ben Walker played a lovely through ball to Bethany who rifled a shot into the bottom corner.

5 - 2 the final score line. There were some excellent performances but Noah on his debut stood out. Not only did he play well in goal, saving a rasping free kick from Ben Wallker, but he was also excellent in defence showing good distribution - Man of the Match. Well done Noah and well done to all those who made their debuts for the school team tonight.
