Football League Match

It was a big match on Friday for me as it was against Tarvin. Local bragging rights were at stake.

After the Malpas match, we worked on playing it to feet rather than launching it long. We started with Oliver up front who we hoped would link up the play in midfield.

It started so well with an early deflected goal from Dan's shot. We pressed high up the pitch and were in control but couldn't find that killer finish. Then, Dan found a bit of space and slotted home for his second.

Just before half time, Jack, who plays for Tarvin, raced clear. We knew he was the danger man with his fierce shots and he fired one past Freddie who had no chance. But there was still time for a Farndon break. Travis cut inside and let fly - it got a deflection and found the back of the net.

The second half started with another goal. Oliver showed some good feet in the box and finished well. Jonnie came on and was a constant threat down the left. The game then settled down, but there was still time for Dan to finish well to complete his hat trick.

Another fine team performance and Dan did well to score a hat trick. Man of the match though goes to Tuesday's game changer - Oliver CB. He was excellent up front, holding up the ball well, dictating the play and did not put a foot wrong. His decision making was spot on and took his goal well.

Next up it is Mickle Trafford. A good start to the league title defence but it is only a start.....
