Farndon Stay Top

Tonight the Year 5 and 6 football tam playd their 5th league match in the Chester District League. We played Christleton and it was an incredibly tight game in the first half. We took an early lead only to see Christleton draw level. As the first half was coming to a close, we scored 2 valuable goals in quick succession.

This filled the team with confidence and then in the second half  we raced into a 6 - 1 lead. It was great to see James in Year 5 smash one into the back of the net for his debut goal. Some tired legs led to Christleton clawing their way back into the game to 6 - 3. But with some vital saves from Jack in goal we steadied the ship and we won 6 - 3.

Now we have played 5: Won 4  Drawn 1 which puts us top of the league with 27 goals scored. Man of the match was Ben, our captain, who scored a great headed goal from a corner and led by example. Next week is a tough match against a Blacon school.
