Diamond Cricket

Mr Bond took our Year 4 cricket team to the Diamond Cricket Broxton tournament. We were defending champions so hopes were high and we desperately wanted to retain the trophy.

First up was Tilston. The team started strongly but Tilston had some quality. It was a tight game but we edged it 20 points to 17. Our next game was against Bickerton. Harry was on fire and with his first ball he smashed it over the fence - only a 4 apparently. We dominated and won 18 points to 3.

Then it was Malpas. They nicked victory away from us in the Year 5 and 6 cricket so we hoped to get our own back. In the match the boys batting was strong. However, Sophia stole the show with an excellent catch. We won convincingly 28 points to 7. Our last match was against Tattenhall who had a large squad of 15. Confidence was high now the team raced to a 29 points to 10 win.

The trophy was retained. Champions
