Cross Country retain their crown

Over the last few years, we have sent very strong cross country teams and each time come back with the trophy. Mr Bond was aiming high once again and took a team from Yr 1 to Yr 6. In total, he took 35 children! There were so many children who were keen and eager to represent the school and run for Farndon.

The competition is split into Year groups. Points are awarded to the first 2 finishers from each school.

When I spoke with the Year 1 pupils, they were full of nerves. They didn't need to be as they came home in first place! The pressure was then on the Year 2 pupils; they didn't show it and also came first! Well done to the infants. A fantastic achievement.

It was the then the turn of the Juniors. The Year 3 and Year 4 children were clearly inspired by the Infants. Both Year groups came first! Then, it was the turn of the girls in Year 5 and 6 and they ran incredibly well to achieve a third place. Finally, the boys from the Year 5 and 6 stepped up to the start line. We finished on a high with another first place!

Overall it was another Farndon victory and we retain the trophy. Well done to Mr Bond for organising this once again; never an easy task with so many children. Also, a big thank you for all the parental support at the event. Next up is the hockey in Year 6.
