Chester Schools Cross Country

On Saturday, it was the first race of the Chester Schools Cross Country. There are 4 races in total. Small medals are on offer in each race, but every competitor is keen to win the overall medal. This is where they take your best 3 results as an average and if you are lucky enough to be in the top 3, you are awarded a large medal in a smart presentation case - complete with an engraved plaque.

We took 10 pupils and every single pupil gave it their all! In the Yr 3 girls' race, Flo went out fast and managed to hold on for Bronze. But Harriet Kay was hot on her heels in fourth and Evelyn finished sixth. Many children dropped out, but Hattie Cooke did fantastically well and proudly crossed the finish line.

Our Yr 3 boys were equally as impressive. It was an exciting race to the finish. Blake won an incredible silver and Henry earned himself a bronze. But close behind Jonah came home in fourth and Oscar had an amazing last lap to finish 5th! I can't wait for the next race.

After gold last year, Polly came to defend her title in the Yr 4s girl race. Considering she wasn't feeling a 100%, she did so well to dig in and take silver

Our Year 5 girls, who have both medalled in the past, had a tough step up in distance. They both ran a solid race with Zara taking 6th and Mollie 7th.

Well done to all our runners.
