Headteacher's blog Week Beginning 17th November

Date: 23rd Nov 2014 @ 12:14pm

After such a busy week with our Remembrance work, it was back to the curriculum and their topics.

I spent some time in Year 4 this week teaching factors and multiples. We had a great time making factor flowers and a lot of the children showed a good knowledge of their tables. Tables are so important in maths and we now need to know up to our 12 times table. Well done Year 4 children and keep learning your tables.

In Year 3 I watched a lesson on fractions and was really impressed with the level of challenge for some of the pupils finding fractions of amounts beyond halves and quarters.

In the Early Years classes, the children were doing work for Road Safety Week and created some lovely posters and writing to encourage children to stay safe on the roads. They were even out at the front of the school with the Community Police Officers and using the speed gun for passing cars.

It's incredible how fast the time goes and Christmas practises are now in full flow. The hall has a wonderful back drop up already and I can't wait to see the Early Years show. I have had a quick look at the Key Stage 1 scipt and was surprised to see I am appearing in it! I believe it is Harry who has been given the challenge of acting as me so I look forward to seeing all the children in action.
