Headteacher's blog Week Beginning 8th December

Date: 14th Dec 2014 @ 12:55pm

Well Christmas is always such a busy time, but of couse it is hugely enjoyable as well.

The week was dominated with the Key Stage 1 show in St Chad's church. This year's production was called Tinsel and Teatowels and I have to say the songs are so catchy that I have been humming them all weekend. The children performed so well in each show and I was so proud of them all. The singing was marvellous, particularly the solo parts. It is never easy on stage, performing in front of so many people, but they were so confident. Well done to all the children and staff within the Infants for doing such a great job. I look forward to seeing the finished DVD of the show.

On Thursday it was the Christmas Lunch in the school hall. Our middays enjoyed their dinner in the side room with waiter service. It ran like clockwork and there was certainly a festive feel with the music and of course the Christmas hats. The children went to so much effort with their hats - they appear to get bigger every year! Georgina in the kitchen and her team did a wonderful job and the dinner was delicious.

We look forward to the last week of term and the run up to Christmas. The children will enjoy theatre trips, Christmas clubs with parents and of course the Year 6 pupils will get to make one of Mrs Higley's legendary wreaths.
