Headteacher blog Week beginning 11th May

Date: 16th May 2015 @ 12:25pm

Well this week was dominated by the Year 6 SATs papers which took place this week. The attitude of the Year 6 pupils was a real joy to observe. Their behaviour throughout was excellent and all the pupils had such a positive attitude to the tests themselves with a real desire to perform to their very best. Both myself and the teachers were tremendously proud of the whole of Year 6. The papers have now been sent off to be marked and we eagerly wait to see how well all our pupils have done. The results will be analysed and put onto the website under the achievement tab.

The children in both Key Stages have been busy preparing for their Sport Days. Fingers crossed we are lucky with the weather, however, if there is rain in the air, we will make a decision as early as possible and the reserve date has already been planned on the school calendar.

I had a really positive meeting with parents at the open forum meeting. We talked about a range of things including the new format for the report, safety at the gate and oppotunities for parents to come into school to share topic books and art work with their children. These forum meetings give a real opportunity for parents to have a voice in school policy and the minutes of our meetings can be found on the website. Also, just to remind parents that you can also add to parent chat forums on aspects of the work we do in schools. Currently, we are asking parents to comment on how we promote the pupils'spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

Well incredibly next week is the last week of the half term and I am looking forward to seeing the children perform at sports day.
