Geography Skills morning

Date: 9th Oct 2015 @ 2:38pm

Year 3 and 4 had a great morning this Wednesday, as we all participated in a morning of geography activites. The children had a brisk walk to the river Dee, where they sketched the landscape and identified the physical and human features they could see. They drew the route of the walk on a map and added any street furniture they could see. In the classroom, the children were learning about grid references and symbols used on an Ordnance Survey map led by Mr Bond. They were also learning about 'mapping skills' on a great website called Mapzone, completing jigsaws of the UK and the World. The children also drew the world on a balloon using marker pen and located places they had visited on a UK and world map.

A big thank you to the parents who came to walk with us.
