Class: Year 6 Kestrels Year: 2016 - 2017

The Year 5 and 6 took part in the Broxton cricket tournament this year.

First up it was Tilston. We set a challenging total of 250 runs thanks to some big hitting by Tom, Cameron and Todd. Then, Cady shone with ball in hand. She got two wickets in a row and we restricted Tilston to 212. Next up it was Tattenhall. They bowled well and we only managed 210. Although we got some quick wickets, we were beaten by 16 runs.

Our third match was against Tushingham. We dominated with the bat with some power hitting from our danger men. We posted a challenging score of 240. Tushingham were dangerous with the bat but only managed 221 - another victory. Our final game was Malpas. Cady was the star again with two perfect yorkers which knocked the wickets out of the ground. She was on a hat trick for the second time. Malpas only scored 200. Chasing a low score, we were cautious with the bat but managed to score 247.

It was a 3 way tie on points and so it went down to runs scored. We edged it narrowly for another trophy. Champions.

A terrific performance from everyone, but Cady was fantastic, earning her player of the tournament.

The Year 3 and 4 had a tournament in the afternoon. Mr Bond was hoping to retain his title from last year. They beat Bickerton convincingly 49 - 16.Tattenhall was next and they were beaten 46  - 26. They followed it up with a 41 - 28 win against Tilston, a 37 - 26 victory against Tushingham and in their final game they narrowly beat Malpas 35  - 33.

Like with the Year 5 and 6 it went to runs scored as Tattenhall and Farndon were level on points. Tattenhall won this time, scoring an extra 36 runs.  Runners Up
