Get Set Go... Curriculum

Welcome to our new page!

Our Get Set Go curriculum is designed to help the children return to school after our closure due to COVID 19. Through the use of a text based approach, we hope that we can allow the children to raise any concerns they may have in a safe environment. From here we can then address any issues that are raised through a creative and fun way that uses the book as a springboard.

This half term's book is a beautiful text called 'Leaf'

The book is about a polar bear who arrives unexpectedly in the woods. The other animals fear and avoid him, suspecting him to be dangerous and his odd habit of collecting leaves only adds to their distrust. The story is a journey through the emotions and offers plenty of opportunity to build children’s sense of empathy with a character. This book will provide us with opportunities to reflect on our own relationships and interactions, on the importance of listening and sharing with others in order to see something of ourselves in what might otherwise appear alien and different, and on the ease and dangers of leaping to conclusions.
