Cross Country Champions

On Thursday, Mr Bond took a large group of children to the Heber for the cross country tournament. Traditionally, we have done well in this tournament against other local schools and have won the overall trophy for the last 3 years.

There were several races: Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and a Year 5/6 girls and a Year 5/6 boys. For the overall trophy, you earn points for your team by finishing in the top 10 of each of the races.

Our team performed so well; each and every child within our 26 strong team ran their hearts out. Mr Bond was thrilled with everyone's overall perfomance and we were all so proud to see pupils from our school win 5 out of the 6 races!

In Year 1 Jamie won his race and Joshua Evans in Year 2 crossed the line first. In Year 3, James Gordon dominated his race and Jonnie in Year 4 came first. For the girls in Year 5/6 Juliette had a strong race to finish second and Tom won the Year 5/6 boys.

Obviously, with 5 first places and 1 second place we won overall and regained the trophy. It continues our strong start to the season of sport with 3 tournament wins. Well done Team Farndon!
