Head's blog Week Beginning 22nd September

Date: 20th Sep 2014 @ 2:38pm

It has been another busy week in the life of Farndon Primary School. It is always so good to see plenty of enrichment and enhancement opportunities for the children.

For Year 6, it is worth mentioning that because the children had such an amazing time at their Robinwood residential, someone decided to make a movie of it. You can see the exciting trailer on the Gallery Page.

It has been a busy week in Reception. At the start of the week, the children got to meet a Zoo Keeper who brought in animals for the children to see and experience. Then on Friday, the Reception children went to Chester Zoo, and Mrs Pomerantz told me a good time was had by all. On Friday, the Nursery children visited me in my Office and brought me a tasty Polish treat they had made - delicious!

The Infant children have been roaming around school all week with the I-pads, taking photographs of Sunny ( the Meerkat ). They ued them to produced some wonderful diary entries. On Friday, they even took Sunny on a walk around the village so he could compare Farndon with his home in Africa.

Year 5 Parents must go onto the website to see the Photographs in the gallery section of the children making a stained glass window. The children absolutely loved the experience, using all the tools of the trade. I can't wait to see the finished window ( in the shape of our school badge ); we plan to hang it in our entrance.

In the next few weeks I will be under pressure to make sure my blogs are written to a high standard, as our top writers in Year 5 and 6 are planning to write their own School blog from a pupil's perspective - and they are desperate to make it better than mine!!!

Next week I am looking forward to our school's Day of Languages and Caveman day in Year 3 and 4.
