Head's blog Week Beginning 15th September

Date: 14th Sep 2014 @ 8:30am

I was in school this weekend to see that the painting of the 2 mobiles is so close to being finished. It's amazing what a lick of paint can do. The new tables for Year 4 finally arrived and now Miss Schofield has a learning environment that anyone would be proud of. When I have visited throughout the week, the children in Year 4 have certainly seemed so happy and motivated.

This week I met with the other Headteachers in our cluster. We organised the Arts evening once again, which is to be held on the 9th July. Also, we organised a joint Dance festival which will be held on the 17th / 18th March. For Farndon, it will probably involve Year 4 - as Miss Schofield is our dance specialist.

On Tuesday, our first Parent Forum meeting was held ( minutes on the website ). It was overwhelmingly positive and it is always nice to hear positive comments from Parents. Some good points were raised however I will discuss these further with staff and Governors. Some Parents brought up the issue of releasing children after clubs whilst cars come onto the car park. Also, Parents would like to see improvements to pedestrain access and signage at the front of school. Finally, some Parents said they would prefer to receive newsletters via e mail.

Next week I am looking forward to the tag rugby and spending some time with new Reception children.
